Weird stuff about geckos curing AIDs

Have you guys read anything about how people in East Asia think that geckos (I think especially Tokay geckos) cure AIDs? It's so weird! Google it and you will find a bunch of people looking to buy geckos. Apparently they have to be giants for it to work. It makes me feel kind of sad for all the geckos over there who are getting captured.

That's certainly interesting.
Since I have aids, maybe I'll take a read.
Yeah I've had them for about 10 years now.
I don't think I would kill geckos instead of
buying batteries for my hearing aids though.
I'll read the article...maybe you don't
have to kill them.

*sigh* Sad how superstitions like these end up killing off harmless animals in the attempts to cure a person of a medical condition. And even more upsetting that it is still happening these days. Unfortunetally there is not much we can do about it.
