We have a tremper albino giant that had to have his tail amputated. His tail is growing back nicely and starting to get pigment and color. The part that I am confuded about is his stub is getting alot of orange color in it. Is this normal for a regenerated tail not to quite "match" the rest of him? The breeder that we rescued him from said that his parents were both Tremper Albino Giants. He still has them and they both look like normal albino giants- no orange coloring. I took some pictures but couldn't really get the color to show up on the picture like it does when you just look at him in the light. I am not a real good photographer:( .

I would suppose it could grow back being much different then the old one(most do i belive). Most that i have seen are kinda dull looking after they grow. I guess looking orange is very possible.

Regens growing back really orange is very normal. I'm not exactly sure what causes it but it happens with Normals too.

i have seen geckos that have been bit say like during mating or cage mate aggression and the scar heals over (especially in tangs) really dark orange almost red. while i not in favor of harming a gecko i have to admit this is a unquie characteristic.

Khayman came to us as a rescue. His tail was in a severe state of necrosis ( sp?) . We had to take him to the vet and have the tail removed. The vet was not 100% sure that his would regrow. I have some pictures of his tail that I can post but the oragnge doesn't show up on my camera as well as it does in person. I will get those posted tonight. I wasn't sure if a gecko had tang in it from back in it's genetics if this could possibly show up in a tail regeneration. He is my first experience with a lost tail.
