Hey guys I really want to get into roaches since my leo won't eat crickets with out me starving him. I know dubia are popular but seeing as I have 2 geckos I don't know what I would do with them after they grow. Red runners seem good but on ebay I only see 2 listings, ones over priced the other dirt cheap but its for 1000. I need a site that will give me around 300 for a good price any suggestions will be appreciated.

Just be careful, because they do climb. They're a lot like the household German roaches in that they are fast and climb, so they're definitely not as popular as Blaberus roach species, which do neither of those things.

I believe that dubias go from tiny to full grown in about 3 months under ideal condition. You can always get a handful of adults that you let breed and just feed off the nymphs as you need them. I knew someone that had just a couple geckos, so she had just one breeding pair and she'd feed off the nymphs as they were produced, so she never had a large colony or anything. So you're not destined to keep a thing of 2,000 of them if you don't want/need to!

I don't know where to buy them because I can't buy them, being Floridian. But check Faunaclassifieds.com, I see people put them up aaaall the time, I'm sure there are great deals out there. Or you can always negotiate with an individual and put together a small number of them to meet your needs.

I think what I'll do is buy 100 to 200 nymphs on the internet. Raise about 10 of those and keep them as my breeders while I feed off the others. Thanks for your help!
