What causes the difference in eye color?

I'm talking about in geckos that don't have any of the genes that directly affect eyes (albino, eclipse, super snow, etc.)

I've noticed that my SHTCTB has very light, silvery eyes with little, brownish veining. I double checked her pupils and they aren't red so she's not albino (she dropped her tail as a baby and it barely regenerated at all so she has virtually no clear spots to look at, pigment wise). Then I looked at my hypo and super hypo pacific greens and they have the normal dark eyes. I've never really stopped to think about it before or really notice eye color in too many geckos so idk if this is a stupid question or not haha.

So I guess my question is, is eye color in leos like human eyes or is there something else at play?

Incubation temperature. Lower temps give darker eyes while higher temps give lighter eyes

Lighter. Well, according to Mr. Tremper. He says higher temps reduce the amount of black there is in the gecko, which goes for body and eyes

Whoops haha that's what I meant. The thing is, the leo in question is a female lol. Here's a pic of her the day I got her (she's a rescue) for reference.

So I'm comparing that one to say, this SH(emerine)CT female

Remember that females can be achieved at higher temps, say 92-94. So they will be hot females, which doesn't mean they will be infertile, just need more time to develop

Is there a spelling mistake in your TapaTalk signature ;)

I dont see how this is true since I have a mix and this has never been apparent in any of my offspring I have Males with very dark eyes and also females too
- hot females are known to be aggressive and unable to be bred from too ??
