What color night light?

I'm thinking about getting a night light for my leo, because in the winter it gets pretty cold up here in northern Michigan, and I wanted to give him a little extra warmth. (Not too much, though!)

What color night light should I get? Red, blue, or black?

Thanks!

I use a Zilla night black heat bulb, 50 watt, it puts off just enough heat to keep the ambient temp around 72-75 even when my house gets chilly at night.

I use these as well. Although I've also used red bulbs. I like the black ones better.

I would advise against using red ones. I posted on the other thread regarding night bulbs, but long story short - I used one on a diurnal reptile's enclosure, and it kept her awake all night, and as a result, she was tired and lethargic during the day. One of my herp vets is very much against using red lights as she believe reptiles can see them and it messes with their day/night cycles. As soon as I switched the light out, my reptile slept just fine. I, too, use the Zilla night black heat lights on all my enclosures as it gives off a very soft purple light that doesn't seem to bother any of them, yet keeps the ambient temps where they need to be in my chilly house.
