What could have killed that gecko..?

Hello, a person who got 2 gecko from me just told me one died. Heard it was a female, which suddenly stopped eating. So i asked a pic and here's what i'm seeing :

Was told that death occured last night, ~15days after no eating. The person, living on an island, couldn't get help apparently. There is still another one that's alive and doing fine. For now..! Ideas?

It could have been a number of things. Do you have any information on how the gecko was kept? Substrate, temperatures, supplementation, where the geckos were acquired, etc?

The abnormal angle of the legs looks like MBD to me.
But as said you'd need more information. Like temps, feeding and supplements.
