What do you use as hides for your racks?

Hello All,


I was just wondering what everyone out there use as hides for their racks. I'm trying to get a feel for something that is mass produced that i can get in bulk that is not clear. I'm thinking that i will be needing somewhere in the range of 40 containers. They will be going into the Iris tubs.

Any suggestions or please share what you are using.

Why do you not want something clear Ryan?

What I've been told is that the clear hides help especially with laying females, as it is easy to tell if it contains eggs (they will dig down and lay them on the bottom).

OH good call on that Heather. i didn't even think of that. i was thinking more of gecko privacy then anything else. booo to me of trying to figure out my geckos at work. lol.

They have plenty of privacy in the rack. It's mostly dark in the tubs anyways.

I get those containers at Walmart, they are super cheap!

its a gladware 6 cup container, the "interlocking lid" type. I just cut out the "interlocking" part, and fill it with moss. works AMAZINGLY well.

Those Gladware containers with a hole in the lid will do just fine!

hmmm very interesting ideas guys. i was trying to figure out, well work out in my head with out having the containers (tubs) how i was going to accomplish having 2 hides in one tub. i can only do so much visualization in my head before i start getting frustrated with myself.
