What does "het" mean?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I still haven't deciphered all the descriptions of morphs. Will someone clear up what "het" refers to in the morph names. Thanks.

Het mean the gene for somthing is there but you can't see it so;

albino X normal = normal het albino.

albino X normal het albino = half albino half normal het albino.

normal het albino X normal het albino = some albino the rest normals possible het albino coz you don't know witch normal has the albino gene.

Het is short for heterozygous (or heterozygote - which is a heterozygous individual) and simply means that the gecko carries two different 'forms' (alleles) of a gene for a particular trait. The genotype is, for example, Aa, rather than the homozygous aa (albino) or AA (normal).
