What fruits?

Does anyone know what fruits you can feed to cresties?

I've tried her with banana and grapes so far which she seemed to enjoy!

What's the ratio for fruit and insects? Does it change as they get older like it does with beardies and their veg? She's coming up to three.

The person I brought her off didn't even tell me she should have fruit, I've only recently discovered she can and now feel like I haven't been caring for her properly!

Thanks in advance

are you using insects & fruit as a main diet,or to supplement a commercial powdered diet (Repashy, big fat gecko diet, etc)? One of the many downsides to using fruit as a main diet is that cresties prefer super-ripe,half rotten fruit, which is a main part of their wild diet. Not too many people that I know like to let fruit sit around that long...have you considered using baby foods? It would give you the options of trying many different fruits and veggies on your crestie...just try to stick to the all-natural varieties.
IMO,cresties should be on a good powdered diet as a base, with once or twice weekly supplementation of protein (crickets, dubias, etc) and fruit. This way,you know that it's getting good nutrition,as well as variety.

Thanks!
At the moment she's on an insect diet, I've brought some special cresty diet, not sure if she'll take to it as she's always been fed on live food.
I'll try the baby food, I've some other animals that will like that too!
Thanks for your advice.

when you mix the powdered diet, try dabbing a bit on it's snout;they'll lick it off. some lizards like it "day old",where they won't touch it until it's "aged" a day or so. Roughly 1/2 of my gex are like that; they won't touch the food the first night, then clean their dishes the second night (I leave the food in for 2 nights, skip a night, then put fresh food in). If your gecko turns out to be picky like that, just mix the food thinner with a little extra water, then spray the dish the next day when you mist the cage.

Like Jet said, the Repashy diet is best for them. It has fruit in it, and there are several flavors to choose from, which your crestie may enjoy. Mine won't touch fruit, they just eat the diet.

She does like fresh fruit, I just wondered if there were any that were poisonous, like grapes are for dogs and things. I'll try her with little bits and see how she gets on :)

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of data on which foods are explicitly poisonous like grapes and chocolate is for dogs. Toxicity can vary so much species by species and there just aren't enough people documenting these things.
With that in mind, we could start our own documentation for future generations to know for sure which foods are NOT toxic.

Well she's eaten a bit grape and she's still fine, and she loves banana so I know those are safe!
I think the only thing I wouldn't give her are citrus fruits, might be a bit too acidic?
I don't want to make her poorly by giving her treats!
