What is a Holdback?

I've heard some breeders say that this geckos is a holdback. What does it mean?

It means one that they've produced and instead of selling them, they are considered to be good enough to breed for them. Or something like that. Sometimes they decide to sell them, but they are still considered holdbacks. Kinda like the best of the clutch!
