Tonight when I was going thru and feeding everyone I got to Jabba's tank and noticed that he was stuck oddly to the glass. Normally when I open the lid he will automatically come flying up at my hands but this time he didn't move. I touched his back lightly and still nothing, sprayed him with water, nothing. Finally I pryed him off the glass and he stayed in that position. He was breathing but it was shallow. He just stayed in this slightly contorted postion and would not budge at all. In a panic I actually set him down on the screen lid when I called my husband upstairs. I'll be darned, I flipped the thing over (with my hand under him of course should he fall) and he gripped but still didn't change positions.

I put his food dish in, put the lid (with him on it, little bugger had his nails wrapped around the wire) on and turned out the light and went downstairs thinking maybe he might just need a bit had I frightened him. Came back up a short time later and found him sitting on his log, still not his usual self, but at least he came down.

One big thing I did notice was that when I turned on the lights, his eyes didn't dialate like they normally do when a bright light is switched on.

Any guesses at to what just happened? Go figure it's 10 at night on a sunday so no vets to call.

Usually at least once a day. This little guy is natorious for spilling his water constantly throughout the day. So there will be times where he won't have his water bowl filled for a few hours when I'm not home... usually at work.

I did check on his and he was snapped out of whatever was going on. Got him out, hand fed him a bit.

I did google 'crested gecko seizure' and apparently that kind of thing could happen as well due to a calcium crash. Luckily I mixed his CGD with vanilla yogurt tonight.

*sigh* I'm just glad he snapped out of it and was jumping around while I had him out.

A couple of my cresties are very heavy sleepers - I can take them out of their cages and they won't even wake up until I flip them over, haha. And yeah, they kinda stay in the same position for awhile.

But the situation you're describing does sound a bit more serious than heavy sleeping.

If the eyes look sunken-in a bit too, then dehydration probably has a part in it.

I hope nothing is wrong - has it been eating/pooping regularly? Are you feeding CGD?

If everything is being done right, then maybe you need to see a vet. Best of luck.

His eyes weren't sunken in at all like they normally do when they sleep. He eats his CGD pretty steadily, and there's definetally some ooping going on since he's got it smeared on the glass on the front of the tank (classy guy, huh? lol)

I have noticed since this little episode that now he just seems frightened. He sits in the corner and won't come out. I did put regular old CGD in for him, tried offering crickets, can't coax him out. Poor baby. :( Scared him as much as it did me.
