What is this?

Found this guy on my front light when I got in last night

I found this black and yellow garden spider inside a cup of water after it rained. I thought she was dead but once she dried off she crawled away.

I think its a "walking stick" (Phasmatodea) bug but it looks a tad fat to be one. But thats my best uneducated guess
