you can keep allegators with them......... accually mixing specieses is a bad idea for any reptile or amphibian. its just a bad idea like sam said.

Komodo dragons are reccomended by most specialists, sometimes eagles will be utilised in the common leopard gecko vivarium to stress the leopard gecko out by attacking it's tail.

Giant Monitor lizards, although, on a 1:100 scale with leos could be housed, provided you could fit a giant monitor into a 10-20 gal tank.

It's not recommended. I leave all that mixing to the Zoo's and stuff. Your leo is better off alone. I think they like to have the spoiled Child syndrome.

Its ok, I just don't want anyone (in particular, Schub21...) to get sad :main_no:

No worries, it's cool. I guess it was kind of a dumb question. I just saw one of those open-air upward extensions that you can put on top of a 20 gallon long, and I thought to myself - I wonder if a person could mix a leopard gecko tank with a tank for a more tree-branch-dwelling species like some sort of large anole or chameleon or something.

Well, I don't think it was a dumb question. You can't learn unless you ask. Even if it was possible to put something with it, there could be feeding issues ( one would get more than another, of course disease issues, vitamin intake issues, etc. You see where I'm going with this. I hope that helped explain a bit.

ive read you can put an average sized tree dwelling gecko, like it has been done b4 with very little problems, but it could be very stressful to both species, and takes alot of attention and work to make sure they coexist together properly, but its not recommended for either species.

hey, i was only joking... and anyone that knows me knows that i was joking... any way....

like i said befor shub.. its not a good idea to mix any reptile species. there are 2 main problems.... desiese(<spelling) and feeding... one animal might eat the other... and sometimes one animal may have a disiese that it is amune to, but may pass it on to the other animal... this is because of where they live on the earth

It was not a dumb question, no question is dumb, what would be dumb would be to assume something and end up hurting your gecko without asking the question.

Yes i know, i remember someone saying, and im not sure if it was this site or another forum, that they had a leopard gecko, a crested gecko, a whites tree frog and something else all living in a 10 gallon tank!!! Well you can imagine the response they got from the other members.
