What pricing is good for cresties?
Where would you recommend getting a crestie?
What do i need to look out for when buying a crested gecko??

I know i might be an askhole<--(a person who asks to many unwanted questions), but my gf wants a crestie, and I think $80 is too much. Tell me what you know!

A price for a crested is whatever you think is best for you. You can often find them for as low as $25- and go up into the hundreds. Pretty much there are 2 ways of making it more expensive, the morph, and the person who made it, but I wont go into that part here.

You will find some morphs cost more then others. So if you have your heart set on lets say a red, then yes you are going to pay $75-$150, a buckskin will run you $25, then gold tigers you can usually find for around $35, a nice blonde anywhere from $45-100.

And not each person is willing to pay the same price. Someone might be willing to spend $75 for one gecko, another person not as big of a fan of the morph might go...ehh I wouldnt spend more then $65. I am that way with alot of morphs. And sex makes a difference, males are cheaper then females. Is a male not as good of a pet as a female? No, either sex makes a good pet, so if you dont want to spend alot and want something slightly older, find a male.

When buying a crestie, over all look healthy, not dehydrated, nice straight tail, no kinks. Also ask questions like what food is it fed, how often. If they say baby food, consider buying from someone else as baby food isnt the best diet, find someone who offerds CGD only, or CGD with insects.

look at alot of websites and kingsnake, then you will get the general idea on how much a certain morph will go for. And dont be afraid to ask for advice if you think the gecko costs to much, I see alot of people over pricing geckos that IMO would be $10-25 less, trying to hype up their geckos by saying best reds, fantasmic such and such, trying to be real wordy with their discriptions, they are just trying to make it sound cooler then it is. And when asking for advice, dont plaster the persons website up everywhere on forums asking, hey is this price good? Try taking the pic and asking people, hey what would you price this gecko at? If it is within the price range of the actual asking price, then you know you are in the right range for that morph.
