Hi,
I'm new to leopard geckos and the various morphs as well as this forum. My background is mostly tortoises, and chameleons. Those genetics are super simple, so the leopard geckos have caught me off guard. I have a 60 gallon setup right now filled with all the various great things I've found on this forum, but I lack the most important part: the leopard geckos!
I love the whites of blazing blizzards and the bright orange colors of the various morphs. I'm thinking about getting four leopard geckos total. 1 male, 3 females. ****Note: for the most part, the male will be separated from females. I just want to have the option of breeding the females once every few years as a side project to my tortoises and chameleons just out of interest. I'm not really interested in heavily breeding at all. Like I said MAYBE once every 2 to 4 years. They would mostly just be pets!
At the same time, if i do ever decide to let the male hang out with the females, I'd want to get some nice babies out of it.
So after my long backstory, my question is this: What kind of leopard geckos should I get if I wanted to produce:
Blazing blizzards (F1) (is a blazing blizzard x blazing blizzard allowed/possible? or should I get hets?)
or
tangerine, carrot tails, hypo whatever.... (this part confuses me and I really need help!!!) I just love their orange color so whatever you recommend.
Lastly, who would you recommend I get them from?
Thoughts, questions, advice, are all appreciated. Thanks!
Also, I'll be at the reptile super show in San Diego this coming JULY:main_thumbsup:
