My leo "spanky" has or at least had mbd and I was wondering what is the best brand of calcium supplement to use to stop the affects of mbd or maybe even reverse it. Right now I have a dish of Jurassi-cal in her cage but I dont think she eats it, so every couple of days when I get her out I try and get her to lick some off my finger. I feel so bad for letting her suffer like this, I studied up on leopard geckos before I got mine and I must have read about 50 different care sheets but I don't remember any of them talking about mbd. Any help will be greatly appriciated.

Well, my caresheet has information on MBD! If your gecko has MBD, the best thing you can use is liquid calcium, such as NeoCalglucon. It goes directly into the bloodstream. You can get it from your vet, or look for generic Calcium Glubionate.

where do I get that Calcium Glubionate stuff and how much does it cost? I don't really have a lot of money to buy stuff for my gecko, most of my geckos furniture and substrate came from my friend that has beardies.

Just wondering, does anyone else have any products they like to use?

Liquid calcium will work the best to stop MBD. I know Marcia uses Rep-Cal calcium (as do I) for dusting and calcium dishes. You should be dusting feeder items with the calcium. The dish of calcium should be left in the cage just in case they aren't getting enough with their diet.

P.S. Don't forget to gut load the feeders. :)

What do you recommend using for gutload? I put carrots, cat food, the whole grain cherios, oatmeal baby cereal in with our crickets. I put the carrots, potatoes in with the mealies. I keep them in a blended up mixture of whole grain cherios and oatmeal. Is this good enough gut load or should i add supplements of some sort?

Yeah I washed it. And also I'm pretty sure its not the beardie furniture that caused her to stop eating because she stopped before I put it in the cage with her.
