I am using Excel for all data thus far. I think for keeping track of feeding/pooping, I am going to either make some kind of chart by hand, or buy an erasable chalk board to hang on the wall in the reptile room.
ive tried metzcal, and microsoft spreadsheets..man the easiest way for me is old school notebook..and im computer literate. I just too lazy to type it all up easier to write lol
I use Excel. I have it where it keeps up with all the breeding info that I want plus I have it where when you put in the date the eggs were layed it will give you the approx. hatch date. It has been working good for the past few years. I also keep it backed up on CD I just update the CD every other day.
i started making an access database with all the bells and whistles but im working 2 jobs now so thats been put aside for now or at least only for the weekends when im not doin other things.
We always used excel as well as had an erasable board for all details that can change rapidly (eating pooping babies that need to be watched more closely etc)
Excel....and I have spreadsheets/charts that I printed that I keep on clipboards in the gecko room that I use, then update spreadsheets on the computer weekly. I find it a hassle to take the laptop in when I'm taking care of the leos.
I use Herp Care Software (free from www.thegeckocam.com) recommended by someone here. It's basic & simple to use. But I have to say I've become lazy & it's way easier to keep a notepad next to my rack & use it for basic feeding/pooping. Then I just tracking the rest in the program. I always fear a computer crash, so it's nice to have writen down (and files backed up!). I also don't have that many to track (yet!), so we'll see.
