What kind of gecko is this one? madagascar day gecko?

Had ever broke the tail?

I bought it when she was 8 months.

Day Gecko, yes. It also does look like it has dropped it's tail in the past.

Because of that is so afraid?

I don't have experience with keeping Day Geckos but from what I've seen they seem to be a "less tame" species. Not as accepting of handling as say, a Crested Gecko or Leo.
He could also just not have been handled much, if at all, before coming to you.
