What The Heck Is She Doing?

I just saw my adult female leo sloooowly waving her tail back and forth, nothing like the "Oh, dinner! Twitch" It was very slow and wave-like. Is this a mating behavior? Does she see herself in the glass and just finds herself irresistible? Is she possessed by ghosts?

it's called flagging and usually it's a defensive behavior. they wave their tail when a predator comes along so that the predator will attack the tail end and not the head end, allowing the gecko to escape.

Haha, oh my gosh, she's scared of her reflection in the tank glass! Oh dear. Is that an issue that needs to be corrected, or just funny?

Neara does that when she sees my sister. She has scared her sooooo many times. Not on purpose, but she doesn't know that [as in the lizard] lol
Not to mention the ONE time I let her hold Neara she was all EEK and almost dropped her |: cause she thought the little nail things felt funny

I love when they flag though :) tis so cute

Well Merlin hasn't gotten too freaked whenever the dog has come in the room when my Mom goes in to check on him when I'm not able to. The cat's tried to come in the room a couple times, but I don't think Merlin's noticed, and I get the cat out before she ventures further than the entrance. She's definitely a hunter and would love to chase Merlin if he were lose so I always keep my door closed, unless Mom comes in and she squeezes by past her.

Wow, maybe Rin is just weird lol. I've never seen her flagging before and the cat loves to sit in my room (he's only allowed in when I'm there), I swear, Rin will actually come out of her hide and stare down the cat, to the point that if I dangle food in the tank she'd rather watch the cat....could be defensive, as in wanting to see the predators whereabouts, but in that case, shouldn't she hide? Silly Rin.
