She will ovulate when she feels it is "right". I know my females started to ovulate when the days got longer and the temps warmed up. Are you sure yours are actually females? And maybe she isn't mature enough yet. You can't force a female to ovulate. Good Luck!

Some females are difficult to see the egg follicles. It sounds like your female is certainly old enough to begin ovulating, but don't feel bad... I still have about 6 girls that have not started ovulating yet!

I was just going to say, you definitely know yours is a female because if she wasn't...well.. Leelan would have won!! 'nuff said!

sorry, I can't help you with your question, but as always, we'll be hoping and praying that your girl starts ovulating!!

You can't make a female ovulate. I have a pair of leopard geckos that are at leaste 6 years old that I know of and they never mated untill this year when I got them and I have 4 clutchs from them opps 3 clutches and 2 hatchlings lol. So maybe you don't have something set up right or something.

David,

Have you considered getting another female and introducing the male to her?

I know you've said before that you have isolated the two of them, but maybe if you separate them for a while, then introduce him to a DIFFERENT female, he will be more interested in mating.

As for your female, like everyone said, she'll ovulate when she's ready, but perhaps not until you separate them for a while and she stops seeing the male as a companion and starts seeing him as a mate. And by a while I mean for a few weeks where they cannot see OR SMELL each other.

they can probably smeel each other through a 1 in. think bored 12 in. high or no?... I don't really feel like getting another female BB (thats the only female i would get)

My male is interested sorta.. he doesnt do the tail thing too much but about 2 weeks ago when i was feeding my female, he came out in the hide, and since they were both in the open he started walking towards her. He kinda bit on her neck, or went for it, but then she ran away..

So you are suggesting to seperate for a few weeks again.. and introduce if she starts to ovulate or just introduce after 3-4 weeks no matter what..

thanks again

maybe put some wine in their water dish, dim the lights, put on some music...

i've tried that, all i got was 2 loopy geckos
