Whats wrong with her tail???? LOTS of pics

She seemed fine yesterday, I noticed nothing wrong with her yesterday but today I noticed shes been laying out of her Hide most of the day and walking around, glancing out at us... Usually I dont see her till I turn her light off so This is Defferant. Then later this evening I noticed her tail looked weird. I think she may have shed Tonight because she was shifting around in her Humid Hide. What do you think it going on with her? She looks allert and Happy, a little sleepy but shes been awake all day too.

NO def not a burn. Her temps are no where near hot enough, as the cooler weather is keeping her tank at 87-88..no higher. A burn was my firth thought as well. I pulled out her carpet and tayed down paper towels to try and keep her tank clean.

I'm continuing your what to do questions: It looks raw? Is there something that can be done for that? Or do you go with paper towels & keeping the tank super clean while it heals?

Maybe she scraped it on something in her home?

If she did shed she may have bitten herself. It also looks like there may be some shed left on her tail.

I am assuming no cage mates.

youre correct no cage mates. I hadnt thought of the idea that she may have bitten herself..hmmm

It does look a lot like a thermal burn... unless there are crickets left in her enclosure that might be chewing on her. She may very well have chewed it herself trying to get some stuck shed off, too. Silly gecko!

Anyway, you are doing right by keeping her on paper towel until it heals. You can put some Neosporin or Polymycin on it until it forms a scab.

i never leave crickets in with her. she wont hunt anyway... silly girl demands to be hand fed. I will continue to closely monitor her

The tail started getting necrotic for no aparent reason, there was nothing that could have hurt or burn her. But I agree that my case looked more like a wound (I think se might have bitten herself when she felt it weird) and yours looks A LOT like a burn.

yea her tail healed up 2 days later, but shes having dehydration issues now. I noticed she never drank... i figured she was a private drinker.. apparently not. I made a new post.
