so I'm one of those people who bought one gecko and now cant get enough. I have an expo this saturday comming up and I really am looking for a sunglow. Since i upgraded my current leos tank, I have a single 10/20 gallon free for the other gecko if we decide to purchase another one, my question is when is it okay to house them?, I dont know the current sex of my leo, but my next gecko will be a female regardless. I know male and male is a big no no, male and female is also a no no unless you wnt to take on the responsbility to breed, but when is it okay to house 2 females?. I dont plan on doing it because id be worried, but just to ask. thanks

when both leo's are confirmed female, similar size and then you can do a trial run to see if there are any aggression problems. Oh and when the new leo is out of quarantine.

I prefer to feed each female separately. I have four together and they will try to be alpha if there is a bowl of food. 90 day quarantine. And house when same size. Just because you have a male and female doesn't mean you have to breed. Just toss the eggs.

so basically female/female, atleast 90 day guaran and same size?. i dont put worms in the bowl, i would seperate feed for sure. and thor that makes me want to bring something up when u said toss the eggs, i asked this same question to a petstore employee and he said the same thing when I asked...but isnt there bigger percaution and measures to take with a female gecko while shes breeding?, and I dont know about tossing the eggs, I mentioned that to my girlfreind and she dosent like that idea, besides I feel bad for my leo to go through all that, and then just throw away potential eggs, wont they percept and understand that and become stressed?

All females will ovulate. A single female gecko will still lay eggs. But I understand the concern to toss fertile eggs. Maybe wait until you are for sure on the gender of yours. Then you can buy another of similar weight if it ends up being female.

Just don't go beyond your means. We all would love to see hundreds of these beautiful guys running around, but even the best kept reptiles can become ill and need expensive vet care. The fewer you have the more you can give to the ones you already have. :main_yes:
