I know some people will never have extras but for those that do(or if you did) what did you do with them? When i have extra mealies i give them to a few friends who have beardies, suger gliders, hedgehogs, and birds. Would you rather give them away to someone who needs them(ok so they dont NEED them its more of a treat) or sell them off to get money? Before you say why dont you put them in the fridge=_= i have over 3000 in there with another 10k growing or pupating to keep the cycle going. I belive in the little saying "do good and good things will happen" It seems to be working i think.

We have an organization called Wildlife Defenders (not the wacko organization) that is run by Bridges for Brain Injuries. It helps anyone with a brain injury in their recovery. They are responsible for the care of all the animals and presentations to schools, libraries, etc. I give any extra crickets, and soon to be mealies to them.

I always post on my local classifieds board asking if anyone needs free feeders. Usually I get a few people with sugar gliders, turtles or very few leopard geckos.

If you have bird feeders you could place some in a flat shallow dish near the bird feeders for the wild birds to eat. They love them!!! Just make sure the mealies can't escape.

toast them in the oven, sprinkle some lime juice and salt over them, and then either eat them like beer nuts with a cold beverage or sprinkle over a salad...

I always have extra Dubia, and I give some out to friends with scorpions and tarantulas! Other than that, I just let the colony keep growing cause you never know when my collection will grow again!
