Well I got a collection of three females a Trember Albino, and two hypos I think they are TSHCT and SCHT. My TA is the only one that may be ready this year to breed I think. What are some basic responsilbe guidelines to follow. Like what are morphs that should not be crossed etc; Sorry im new to this but I wanna do right by my lil buddies.

The main one is to avoid crossing the different albino strains, you also don't want to breed animals with deformities, or who are too young. Also remember that just because you can breed doesn't mean you have to, put some thought into your projects, figure out what you want to accomplish, and then breed your best geckos to achieve your goal, don't throw gecko X in with gecko Y to get some babies just for the hell of it. Be prepared to house all the babies until you can find them new homes, which may take a while depending on what they are and how much you are willing to accept for them.

Yes, plan your projects out carefully. My projects are a Sunglow, SnowGlow, Creamsicle, and Super Snow's. So yes don't breed just to breed. You have to be prepared. I spent about 200$ on Incubator, Thermostat and a home made rack. Not including tubs, deli cups, and website payment.

Thanks, I'm looking at my collection and I have one that is near breeding size but the poor thing has a bad arm, i think from low calcium from before i got her, she's a Tremper Albino. I have a TSHCT that may be stunning once she grows out and a SHCT that has a nice carrot-tail. But I may start out with wild caughts and start from scratch.

I have a young SHTCT that I am hoping will improve color with every shed. It's a huge part of my snowglow project.

Do u have a pic of her? I would love to compare a juvie to mine. Guess I'm nervous since I don't know the parents of mine I'm not sure if they are SHCT or THCT or reg hypos

Those are easy enough to figure out. Hypo(H) means that it has reduced spotting on the body, usually defined as 12-15 or fewer spots. Super Hypo(SH) means no spotting on the body. Tangerine(T) means it has orange coloring on the body. Carrot Tail(CT) means that the at least 15% of the tail, starting at the base, is orange with no spotting. Baldy(B) means there is no spotting on the head. These traits are often combined in one animal.

For example an SHTCTB shows all of them, it is a gecko with a spotless orange body, spotless head, and carrot tail. An SHCT would be a gecko with no spotting on the body and a carrot tail, while an HTCT would be a gecko with reduced spotting and an orange color to the body, and a carrot tail.

There is no need to know the parents, as these are all line bred traits. There is the possibility that they are het for other traits, but that is not very common in Tangerines as most breeders focus on line breeding for better Tangerines rather than trying to introduce new traits.
