Either of you guys around tomorrow (or Sunday)? I finally have some days off and wouldn't mind a road-trip to see ya'll.
So, I exercised my managerial muscles last week and fired someone. I have to tell you guys, it felt soooooo good. I've wanted to see this guy go since November of last year.
The timing wasn't great - my assistant manager was on vacation - but I had enough. This would normally leave us critically understaffed and up shit-creek without a paddle. The thing that made a difference? The girl I hired about a month ago. She's AWESOME!
Other than working crappy hours, we got all our work done (and then some) with 1/2 staff ... nothing late ... no pissed off customers ... no overtime. This week was SWEET! I'm uber happy. Firing that dude was one of the best things I could have done for the store.
On the flip side (see the mention of crappy hours), I haven't had a day off in 13 days. I don't know what to do with myself. That's where you guys come in! Let me know if you're up for a visit!
