Pony Express works well. Personal attention, scenic ride and it toughens the geckos up a bit for an arduous breeding season. Kinda' seperates the men from the boys. If Pony Express is unavailable in your area, UPS works well also.

I may just look into them, thanks Bill :main_thumbsup:

UPS lost a gecko I shipped last week. Luckily, the weather was good, and the gecko arrived in good condition the next day. They were pretty good to work with throughout the ordeal.
I think there can be glitches no matter who you use.

I use UPS. I tried to get a Fed Ex account, but they try to tell me that my home address is not a valid address.:main_rolleyes: I've only had one problem with UPS so far (it was a big one though).

I've never been shipped anything live before, but my experience with UPS has NOT been a good one.

When our rope supplier sends us rope, it arrives looking like they loaned it to an elephant to sit on.
They are infamous for calling at 8 am and telling me that a signature required package will be delivered between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm, so in that sense, they are worse than the cable company. And THEN, of course, once they DO deliver the package, the signature that's required? Yeah, they never ask for it, and they leave the package sitting in front of my door.

I have NEVER had an issue with FedEx. I am having a gecko shipped to me next week via UPS overnight.
And I'm very scared and nervous about it.
In fact, I probably won't sleep well the night before she's due to be delivered, and I'll probably be a wreck the next day until she arrives safe and alive.

I use Fedex and only had 1 problem and that was with the weather at the hub and thankfully the geckos arrived safely and healthy.

I just used UPS Next Day Air for my first time shipping yesterday. Although there was a delay because of the weather, the geckos arrived safely and intact.

Pony Express sounds AWESOME! :main_laugh:

I have heard good and bad things about UPS and FedEx.. I suppose the trick is to figure out which will work best for you. We chose UPS.. as it turned out, someone else in our area had shipped geckos through the particular store we go to, and so they welcomed us with open arms (so to speak) when I asked their policy on shipping geckos (even though ups.com says they can and will ship geckos, some UPS stores are unaware of their very own policies and will not ship for you).

So basically, a good thing to do is to call around and find a good carrier/store location that will work for you :)
