I am wanting to get some shelving to organize my vivs. I would prefer to build something myself, but I can't due to my back. I have narrowed it down to three different units.

One

Two

Three

One, will meet my basic needs, but my 40g breeder might not fit.

Two, is the best looking, but again my 40g might not fit and the wire might not let the UTHs heat properly.

Three, is the best option, but is a bit big for the room I have.

No matter which I choose, it will be anchored to the wall to keep it from tipping.

All of these have their good and bad. I could just put the 40g on top of my dresser and go with one of the smaller ones (I built it so one would fit). Which would you choose?

I use alot of the Metro-styled racks (#2) for various reasons around the house. Alot of the ones for sale in Home Depot and Lowes are beginning to be designed with less depth. The Container Store (closest one to you is in Miami) carries the Metro brand shelves and racks, but is probably too far to drive. If you have the means and can weigh in shipping, there might be something of interest at Grainger.com. Here is a link for you:

You can call/write and request a catalog as well.

We had looked at some shelves for our tanks, but found the 36" ones are not 36" between the supports. They are 36" on the outside. You just might want to check the inside dimensions of anything you purchase.
