White Slime?

One of my girls just pooped -- sort of. There was the solidish white urate, followed by a big blob of milky-clear colored slime. About twice as much in volume as the urate. There was nothing that looked like real poop, although it sure smelled like poop. What is this and should I be worried?

Neither of my two have been eating well for the last week but the vet said to wait another week before bringing them in. Also, they both started shedding after I called the vet, so I stopped worrying (not eating can be normal when shedding, right?). But, the last two times I had this one out of the cage, she pooped while out (on my couch -- gecko distain?) and it looked normal. Today, she was out of her cage and she looked to me like she was going to go, so I quickly put her back and it was this nasty slime.

Is this just part of the urate? A sign of parasites? Just weird poop b/c she hasn't eaten much?

Seriously-- I know this is gross, but is it a sign of parasites or something worse? Or just normal and I've never noticed it before?

Ive never seen a poop like that in leos but I have seen that in imported chameleons and weird poops do make me think parasites, but since she hasn't eaten it may very well be that. Id keep an eye on her and if she has another poop like that call a vet.

Maybe someone else can help you more on this one.

I have a little leo and I have had her for a little over a month now and she has been great. Eating well, very active, loves to explore, however, today she pooped this white slime like you mentioned before and I'm really worried! Did you ever find out what it is???

My male did this once....and males do release some white substance and smere it across the cage to attract females...are you sure yours is a female?

Yes she's a girl :/ she didn't smear it or anything. She's acting normal and nothing seems to have changed. The only thing different was that the heating in my bedroom kicked on while i was at class so her cage was kinda hot, but she just moved to a colder side so I don't think this was the problem. I guess Ill just keep watching her to see if it happens again

just keep monitoring her bowel movements if its solid with urate and has apetite I dont think you need to worry to much ...like you said just keep an eye out and keep us posted were here to help:main_thumbsup:....if your 100 percent sure shes a female then you can rule out what I said, but like I said males release white substances like your describing and kind of rub there under body and sides on surface areas and on the sides of hides to leave scent for females....have u ever noticed your leo doing this?
