Crickets are without a doubt more nutritional for your geckos but they have a downside, quite a few actually.

I was considering breeding mealies and crickets in my back yard.(in an enclosure of course and off the ground) but am hesitant to breed crickets.

Sure if they escape they will only go in the garden, no biggie. but how do you take some from the breeder box to your gecko room inside the house without them jumping around and escaping.

someone else mentioned it earlier. The fear of them escaping and colonizing your house lol creeps me out.

So now im thinking of just breeding mealies and wood roaches with i hear do not fly and are not good escape artists. but still, how do i take a couple of roaches out of the breeder box without them all escaping the moment i open it? yes, i am a noob to breeding feeders lol.

I wouldnt keep any of my feeders out side due to the fact that they can get infested by other creatures from the wild! Then you would pass them to your pets!!!!!!

Dubia and discoids are really great roaches for breeding! Once the colony is going your have a huge assortment of sizes to feed from.
