So i was setting up a new cage and got some new lights and noticed a tag on light saying... Remove lens for uva/uvb lighting bulb. Now i have had my bearded about 2-3 weeks now and i noticed his color fading in first week. He is now pretty much brown. I have now removed the plastic covers over the florescent bulbs so he gets both his spectrum of lighting. Im hoping i will see his color come back. Will it take another 2-3 weeks?

As you know, UVA/UVB is very important! I remember when I first got my beardie, I had made the same mistake with that plastic covering.. Then I later learned the fixture I was using wasn't the greatest either. It was the ESU light fixture.

Make sure your UVA/UVB tube spans 2/3rds of the enclosure and a ReptiSun 10.0 as no other bulb will provide sufficient exposure.

They are the 10.0 desert terrarium bulb. I have them over both sides the cage. Is he going to lose a lot of his color now, because i didn't have that earlier?

I'm sorry Neill, I can't help you there. I don't know if there's any proof of that bulb working. I always stick with the bulbs that are known to work. :(

If you're really concerned about giving adequate UVA/UVB, I would buy a bulb that's known to work such as the reptisun 10.0.
