Although i've never met them, i was very bothered by what happened to Steve & Deb. I've learned a huge amount from all of you & would be recommending this, had it happened to anyone who frequents this forum. I figure there's a few thousand members here? I say we all chip in & raise the $1500 they deserved for that gorgeous gecko. Between all of us it won't be much.

Mike, I know Steve and Deb personally (I performed their marriage ceremony!), and it's not about the loss of money... it's about the theft itself. It's the fact that someone stole their beautiful gecko. Although the idea of raising money to help them is a very sincere and heartfelt offer, it won't change the fact that they were ripped off, and won't replace the gecko.

Just my 2 cents...

Indeed. It would probably better to start secretly commencing the ad campaign plan to find out who took the gecko. With raising living creatures, dogs and cats excluded because mammal breeders are greedy, its not about the profit, which there is usually very little or none at all, its about you raised this beautiful creature and your making someone else very happy by helping them bring it into their family, with a little help to you for paying to raise it.

Thanks for caring so much, Mike, but what Marcia said was right. It's not about the money. It's nice to see that everyone is effected so much by what happened to us. Even if we never get her back, at least everyone will learn something from this situation.

but seriously, when we were at Daytona it was first time we had ever seen everything under netting, tethered together, etc.

It's just sad that people would stoop so low as to steal an animal. Summer and I talked about it over lunch that day and were just shocked that it would even happen. I guess we were naive; definitely not anymore.

I totally agree that it's not about the money, I just feel they deserve it. When i discovered these animals for the 1st time i found more than a hobby.....more like a lifestyle, & all you breeders make it a great one for all of us.......that's all.
