why are mealworms dying?

i bought some large mealworms at walfart, originaly intended for bait. Is this okay?.....I put them in oatmeal dust and put pieces of apples in their container......their in the frdge.....This is causing problems because my leo wont eat it if it doesnt move..........why do mealworms die?

they won't eat when they are in the fridge, get the apple out of there so they stay dry. that should cut losses a bit. if you keep them at room temp then you'll want to give them a bit of apple to chew on.
