why iris boxes?

why does so many people use the iris boxes, are they better then the ones i can get at wallmart ?

I LOVE the Iris tubs! They are much clearer than Rubbermaid or Sterlite so you can actually see the geckos. These tubs do not have a groove all around the inside bottom edge so feces and other debris won't get stuck in there, making them much easier to clean. The walls are more vertical and shorter so you don't lose as much shelf space. The bottom has little "L" shaped stand-off feet at each corner so the tubs never sit directly on the heat source, which provides some air circulation under the tub.

I have Animal Plastics racks, and use the Iris 330 for hatchlings which has the Iris Shoe Box (10008759) tub size....13"L x 7½"W x 4¼"H. For adults, I have the Iris 375 which uses either two Men's Shoe Box (10008760) tub size 14-3/4"L x 10-1/8"W x 5-5/8" H, or one Boot Box (10023020) tub size 22-1/2"L x 14-3/4"W x 5-3/8" H.

I don't have a bunch of baby leos, but i don't use iris...im sure they are better for those reasons mentioned above though

I love iris, too. I buy mine from organize.com. Sometimes they're even on sale.

I buy the sterlite stack kind from Walmart. They work well for me because they have bilt-in handles and are 7 inches high (they can't climb out that easily). :main_thumbsup: hope that helps.

I love Iris but if your trying to go economical I would go with the sterilite. For the price of one Iris tub you could buy two sterilite. Yes they have more ground space and less hight so they save space. They are also heavy duty(thick) but crack easily if dropped unlike other types. They are good if you dont care about prices. +

You can get IRIS tubs from The Container Store. They sell them cheaper by the case.

I was JUST about to say that... I've got a ton of tubs from The Container Store... they have great prices, especially if you order in bulk. Sometimes... they are even on sale!

I love my Iris tubs... they are clear, easy to clean, and very durable.
