my leo is full grown at about 8 1/2 inches i believe.. she is about 58 grams and doesnt loose weight or gain weight.. last night she ate 32 worms. Why doesnt she get any fatter. she eats quite a bit and i want her nice and fat for breeding. Well im trying to breed her right now at 58 grams but it would be nice for if she actually breeds (hopefully soon) she would be fatter. I'm just curious why she doesnt get heavier.

Not all Leos grow at a rapid rate, I have Leos that are 70 grams and still not ovulating, so don't worry about it. She`ll breed when shes ready.

well she eats quite a bit but will not get any fatter.. is that because she uses all of her food or what?

thanks for the other reply Nigel

But when an animals weighs 70 gramms, that would be enough doesn't it? Why does she have to be any fatter...over weight is as bad for geckos as it is for humans....

mine doesnt weigh 70 grams.. it weighs 58.. and i wanted more room for loss of weit during breeding. i would like her to get to 70 and i would be happy, or even 65

Sorry, didn't read the post to well I guess. One of my top breeding females never reached a weight more than 48 gramms, so it doesn't have to be a problem...
