I've had my baby gecko for 1.5 months now, petco rescue. Just a few weeks old when I got him! My Pepper rarely comes out in the daytime, but at night is fairly active. Except when I play piano. Daytime or night time, Pepper will come dashing out and stare at me playing my piano. :D It's almost like he enjoys it! I play piano music on my iPod and he looks out across the tank, just listening and chilling. It's only piano, I've tried other instruments (guitar, and other ipod music) with no other reactions. But Pepper seems to love piano! How funny is that. :) Does anyone else have a gecko with funny quirks like this?

Realistically, it probably startles or bothers him. That's why he comes out. Reptiles, don't "enjoy" things as much as we like to give them emotions.

Funny, mine used to do that too. I'm an avid piano player, and when one of my geckos was young, I remember looking over at her enclosure and seeing her in her hide. I started playing for a couple of seconds, I glanced back over, and her nose was pressed against the glass, her eyes staring raptly at me.

I don't know if they "like' it or don't "like" it, but it's certainly a weird little stimulus for them. I would like to think that they enjoy it, but I can't really say so. But hey, you never know.. :)

I would think that if he didn't like it, it would make him want to hide/stay hidden, but who knows.

Toon likes to watch my computer screen when I'm gaming :)

That's because Toon is trying to tell you to hit that bubble button before it's too late. :main_yes:

Clare loves it when my husband plays his harmonica. I've actually seen her match her steps to the beat before, almost like she's trying to dance. She likes some of my I-Tunes music, and some songs she lets me know if she hates them.

I also have a frog who croaks after a song if he hated it, and during a song if he likes it. A singing frog and dancing gecko. I could make billions.

hahaha soooo random, but if theres a song I like and I start randomly singing, depending on the song, Rin will stick her head out and stare at me....still trying to decide if she thinks I'm terrible or if she likes it lol

Hahaha! Most of these made me laugh. :) Well in case Pepper hates it, I won't do it anymore, but he just didn't seem annoyed to me. We should all be rich, come on! :D Animals are so goofy. :)

Hehehe, it's called a freestyle post. :) And we did learn something! My gecko isn't the only one that reacts to piano and other music, and we learned that geckos are funny lil guys and gals who never let you know whether they like something or not. :)

Hey, we're just trying to have fun and share our gecko experiences. Not all posts are for "learning"..Go troll somewhere else. Facebook or whatnot.

That's a very nice welcome. I do just about anything but live under a bridge (troll)

Sorry that you didn't get my obvious bad attempt at humor.

I like it here just fine, even if I have to deal with name-callers such as yourself.

I'm a reptile lover. Trolls don't love anything.

:)

In this case I used "troll" as a verb, not a name. And it's hard to tell humor sometimes through text. Use emoticons next time. :)

It is interesting when they show funny behaviors like that. Merlin kind of looks up sometimes when the tv is on, kind of gives it a look but goes right back to sleep. I swear I think I have the laziest gecko sometimes, most of the time he is sleeping, even at night. I think he's most active when I'm asleep though, after 10. Sometimes I'll see him up and about between 9-11, and a little bit first thing in the morning. But mostly he enjoys his beauty rest, lol.

Aww, how cute! My TV is above my gecko tank on the wall, so when my gecko sees the light on at night he looks up like "god?" hahaha. :)
