I know all about not using wild insects because of pesticides and whatnot. I heard recently that roly polies and earthworms caught in your yard are good feeders. I'm obviously a little wary of this because of pesticides.. any thoughts?

Just don't risk it. It's not worth it, especially when you can raise your own feeders with not much effort.

Earthworms and isopods (rolly pollies) are both excellent calcium-rich feeders. If you do not have a safe area in which to collect you could culture your own, earthworms should be easy to find from an organic garden supplier, and several isopod species are available from dart frog suppliers and hobbyists.
