So I was curious if there is still a steady stream of wild leos coming from india/that region of the world to the states. Think it would be kind of cool to get a bunch of them and like 15-25 or so and breed them to see what you could make. I know it would take a long time, but I think it would be kind of rewarding to see what could be forged like that. Have a line that was truely your own.

From india? Im not to familiar with animals from there but what does come to mind is the hardwikii And those are 2,000 dollar animals since less than 100 are in captivity, oh and i believe it is also illegal to buy wild ones in the u.s. but if someone breed them and sold you hatchlings then you could do that.

Yeah I mean in general any of the wildones, not only India. I assumed that the laws around moving/selling them were strict. But I would be interested in acquiring babies and doing my own line. Would take a lot of work, patience and money. But who knows something really unique could come from it.

The problem with obtaining wild type leopard geckos from Indian markets is that they don't keep track of where they are collected, so they'll tell you they are whatever sub-specie/locality you are looking for.

That would be nice but as others have said it is not legal to purchase or bring them in to the country. There has not been new wild animals in the market for many years.
