Will they seek out the humid hide for a shed?

This is maybe a dumb question but I'm new to reptiles and am easily worried so forgive me :p. He is beginning his first shed in my care. Before I left for work this morning the lower half of his head was dull then when I came home his body was the same. He's been staying in the hot hide. I have a moist hide on both sides of the tank (20gal L) and I've misted him.

I wouldn't worry about it, if he needs the humidity then he'll seek it out (usually). The only time I worry about a shed, is if he's already shed but still has some remaining stuck on. They don't actually need a humid hide according to a recent study by Designer Geckos, although it is still preferred that you offer one. One of ours loves her humid hide... but only when she isn't shedding. She always sheds in her warm hide.:main_rolleyes:

I just went to check him and noticed some skin near his hide's entrance. And saw him pulling skin off his tail. I've seen the study mentioned on the forums but I'm still trying to play it safe while I learn about Archer's behaviors/patterns and reptiles in general.
Edit: He's already finished shedding and I didn't notice anything around his toes or anything. He's a bit squirmy so I'll try to get a better look later on.
