wondering how morphs came around

i was wondering this for the last week or so how does a morph actually come around? i mean it all starts with normals right? does any one know who created the first morph and how he/she did this or is it all up to the geckos

morphs are genetic mutations. These are completely random variations in the genetic code. The first morph was the jungle/stripe, it was discovered by tremper in 91. The first simple recessive morph was the patternless, many consider this to be the first real morph, it was discovered by Pat Murphy in 91.

Some morphs are from selective and/or line breeding, such as Tangerines. These lines tend to start with noticing a gecko with something special, in the case of Tangs it was orange color, and breeding the geckos that are closest to the desired look until offspring start looking the way you want them.
