Won't let me pick him up?

My little feelers have been hurt

I went to change Fleck's water, calcium powder, mealies, and mist down his moist hide. He came out of his warm hide to check out what I was doing. I put my hand down so he could smell me and and say hi. He licked me a couple times then turned away. I went to pick him up to give me him a kiss on those cute little lizard lips (don't tell my hubby...he might get jealous ) ...and he darted! I tried again and this time he rose up o his legs and backed away. I gave him a minute, then tried again. This time he hunched down. I gently picked him up so his little tosies didnt get caught in the carpet. When he was about an inch off the floor he started thrashing so I immediately put him down cause I didn't want him to drop his tail


This is the first time he's wigged out when I tried to pick him up. Does anyone know why? Other than he wasn't in the mood?

I never reach from behind him when I pick him up. I always come from in front so he can see my hand


This was a few hours ago, so I've left him alone since then

Yeah you are lucky. Every time I pick up my bell albino male he thrashes around.

out of my 6 leos only 2 dont thrash. one is a baby and the other is a large female.

i wish my gex would let me give them kisses on there little noseys!

maybe he's just having a bad day. we all have those! just tell him to stop being such a stinker and hopefully tomorrow will be better

Do you wear any type of perfume, hand lotion etc...? Maybe she didn't like the smell of something? Maybe your outfit? :main_evilgrin:

Mine don't squirm to much, they don't exactly stay still either though.

Don't forget, bringing him to your lips for a smooch may be cute to you, but from his point of view it looks like he's about to be eaten. I'd thrash around too!

He was thrashing before I could even pick him up...let alone give him a kiss

Some of mine thrash at times and some don't I agree that I think it's mood at that particular moment. Even my giants who are generally easy going and move kinda like sloths can get a little wiley at times.. Don't blame him for one bad day..
