Wood?????/

okay so i got 2 fantastic bits of drift wood at a car boot 2 for a £1 and they are BIG normaly its like £5+ to buy from a reptile shop

well i am going to sand them both down a little but i was woundering how is the best to sterilase them i was thinking a soak in bleach mixture then rinse then let them dry in our airing cubored for a few days maybe to a week

letting them air dry in the sun is best if you can. but that's how we clean fish tank ornaments where i work.

I have heard it is best to bake them in the oven around 300 degrees for about 15 minutes.

its winter at the mo and the chance of proper sunlight is nearly impossible

they are to big to fit in the oven lol

I have 2 pieces of wood I found near a lake in Seattle. I intend to bring it back to Malaysia for Stripes but I too have no idea what is the best way to clean it. All I have done is wash it in hot water then I put it in the sun.

Boil water and pour it over the piece of wood that is what i do with the wood i cant put in the oven

you can mix a spray bottle 20%bleach and 80% water. Spray is down and scrub a few times, then thoroughly rinse with a hose or other water source.
