just recently rescued a leopard gecko, been reading this fourm, but i want to make a bigger tank for him (hes in a 10 gal).
Made one for my berdie 5ft long by 2.5ft widex2ft tall. out of wood, and used tile for the floor and glass for the door, and a fake wall. anyways, can i do the same for a leopard but just smaller? also how would i do the heating for the gecko, have a mercury vapor bulb for the beardid, but i know the gecko doesnt need that? any suggestions. thanks

As long as you can fulfill the environmental requirements for a leopard gecko in something like that, then I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's Very Nice and Very Well Decorated! :main_yes:

I have wooden tanks too, and use UTH. I just put the heat cable inside the cage instead of outside, and put a tile over it to prevent direct contact.

yes i agree with sandra..you can also use a plastic cutting board make sure the cutting board is dishwasher safe.(heat tolerant) then cut to fit your UTH. attach the UTH onto the cutting board and place your tiles on top.good luck and post the pics if you build it!
