I used the Paint Shop Pro photo editing /graphics program and made several layers -each of which had areas erased and them combined them
It is a fun program to play with and there are many online tutorial help groups

I will go and look at that msn program but I kinda doubt that it has the options that most photo editing programs have
There is a free program called "The Gimp" -just do a search for it and it has almost all of the options of the pricier photo editing programs and I believe they have a tutorial group too
Here is the link to the site and the download

http://www.gimp.org/

Check it out

Cool- I'm glad that I could be of some help
There are lots of free software goodies out there but you just have to watch out for spyware etc. that can be bundled with them
Also- I always run a virus scan on any download before opening it to install
Have fun with that program

What software are you guys referring to as crap ?
I have use the gimp with no problems
Also what speed is your processor and how much ram do you have on your system
those 2 things have a lot to do with how a program functions and how many other programs that you are running at the same time while you are using the graphics program
I have an older Compaq Armada laptop with a pent 3 (750 MHz ) and 512 MB ram and i have never had a problem with a graphics program being slow
If you have a newer computer with a fast processor and tons of ram and the programs are still slow then there is something else wrong

The Gimp gets some getting used to using but for a free program it does have a lot of features
It was developed for Linux users but has been adapted to work with windows
Also these programs take a while to learn to use the many different features and filters-I have been working with PSP on and off for years and there is lots that i still don't know how to do
There are many groups/forums with great tutorials from beginner to advanced out there but it does take some patience
these programs don't do the work for you like some of the easier one or two step programs for banners etc
you really have to work at what you are doing and it takes lot of patience and the use of the "undo" button

If you want to pay for a premium photo/graphics program you can always llook around for a used copy of Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop as I did

Unfortunately with software-you do get what you pay for-free is nice but not usually as good as the pricier programs

Here's something that i found-it is suppposed to be better than the microsoft paint that comes with whatever OS that you are running and you don't have to have XP to use it
Let me know if you like it
