So i have 20,000 mealworms and i was trying to see the temperature so i took my thermometer and took the probe and put it in the middle and the extra wire or whatever it is that connects the probe to the thermometer was just laying on top of the mealworms. so i come back 3 hours later to find that the mealworms ate the insulation off the wires!!! I can see about 8 inches of exposed wire that they ate off. So i dont really want to feed my reptiles with mealworms that have been eating insulation off wires. So should i wait a couple of days then strain all the poop out of there (theres no bedding) then feed them off as i normally do??
Thanks,
Quinton

Yea I think you can do that. Just wait a few days, feed them something else so they can poop out the insulation. Then they should be safe to feed to your reptiles.

The rubber insulation that was one sixty fourth of an inch thick (or less) and was then bitten off in pieces the size of a mealworm's mouthparts?

Just feed them off, no need to wait. The reptiles will easily pass whatever minute amount of rubber is present in the digestive tract of any individual mealworm.
