Hi all. Long time lurker, First time poster
Wanted to thank the community around here for all the really useful and insightful info, it has helped me allot in preparing for my coming Gecko craze.
As of right this moment I only have 1. She is a 2 year old Leo named, 'Bond'. She has the name due to our first day/night together. Short story long:
While preparing for my 'soon to have' Cresteds (2 of em), I inherited a female Leo from a buddy of mine. I guess she (Bond) was a classroom pet for a year at my buddies nephews school. After the school year, his nephew got to keep her. It turns out it was a little too much for him so he had to give her away. My buddy knew I was in the market for Geckos, so he gladly donated it to the cause (lucky me!).
When he dropped her and the tank off to me (a day earlier than expected) I asked how long it had been since she had been fed. He had no idea, but knew it was longer than 5 or so days. I freaked out a little realizing the pet store had closed an hour prior to this. The fact was sinking in that I was just going to have to sit up with her all night and hope she was good until the morning when the pet store opened. I thought she died a couple times throughout the night. She would be walking and just fall on her stomach, then slowly get up and try to walk again. It was a rough night for bolth of us.
Morning came around and I was at the pet store door when they opened. I grabbed a dozen crickets and some meal worms (had all the dusters and calcium at home already). Got back and started feeding her 2 bugs at a time, which she gladly gobbled up. She ate around 10 crickets, and 2 worms before retiring to the 'Casa De Gecko' Coconut.
Hence the name, Bond. Who I have had for 2 weeks now. She got to go to her first vet appointment a couple days ago and he said she looks like a very fat happy girl.
Here is a link to a little photo album I started of her:

Some are of the old (last week) cage setup, with sand. Some are with the newer, paper towel, setup with her new humid hide/basking rock.
These are my 2 favorites:
And
I am in the process of building a 2 cage, 4' high / 3' wide cabinet. 1 huge cage for my new cresteds, and one huge cage for Bond, daddies girl. Both cages should be about 3' wide by 16" deep and 18" tall. I also plan on doing the polystyrene/grout background with an integrated waterfall in each one. Should be a really fun project and I will post pics along the way.
Thanks for reading through this!
