hey you guys, i just posted about my leos in the feeding forum. I got 2 2-year old leos (1 Female, 1 Male) a 20 Long, a uth, a hide, and 1 day and 1 night bulb w/ fixtures. I am going to be building the females a 30-40 gallon tank really soon (from now til the end of october is when i'll be starting it) but hopefully in a week or two. Would you guys suggest me seperating them, so the female can get more food?? Since they were first bought by their old owner (my best friends bro), theyve never bred before, not even produced eggs once. Do you guys think seperating them will go good, or do you think one of them (or both) may stop eating?? suggestions and oppinions plzzz. One last question, do you think if i seperate them long enough, they will want to breed together?? I want to breed them because the female is realllly dark brown thou spotted, and the male is georgous. It was way worth it, i would have even payed more for them.

thanks

Jeff

P.S. Pics will be up around next week, im going to start puttin my hand in the tank on wednesday, and they were being held on and off with their old owner (ive actually held both of them before i knew i was going to buy them:main_thumbsup: ) so it shouldnt be to long before i can post some pics and handle them:D

I would seperate them ... having them together could be really stressing out the female, resulting in her brown/dark coloring. When you remove her, you might find her brightening up a lot!

Are you using an under tank heater (UTH) or just the bulbs for heat?

Hey Maricia, he says in the first post a uth, which I assume would be an Under The Tank Heater

"a 20 Long, a uth, a hide, and 1 day and 1 night bulb w/ fixtures"

Have the 2 geckos been together in the past? I am surprised that they are 2 and never bred, so they must have been seperate?

ya theve been together for their whole lives. And also, im absolutley there is a female and male. I know because when i first held them around a month ago (before i knew i was taking them home) he was wondering what sexes they were. The brown one had no hemipenal bumps w/ no pre anal pores, and the big spotted one had preanal pores w/ hemipenal bumps. Hopefully i'll be posting pics of them soon. I am ordering some repticarpet, a esu cubbyhole, and somemore repticarpet for the 20 long online tonight. I will be seperating them tonight once i get some hides at the local petstore. I"ll keep you guys updated:D
