We adopted 2 geckos from a family that lost interest in them. My camera is on the way back from the fix it factory so I'll put up pics soon enough.
Since they came to our house I've changed the following things from what they were used to:
1. No more crickets. They eat only mealies.
2. No more sand. On papertowels.
3. No more white lights. Using a red for night vision.
4. UTH is now under the tank.
5. Additional hides. At both ends of tank.
6. I don't know if they were getting supplements, but they are now.
Both are eating like champs. They are both active & curious. They have both shedded succesfully.
Now for the "give me your advice" part of my tale.
Today I came home to find a large pile of regurgitated mealies. I'm not surprised because I'm always shocked at how many I'll see them eat. Also, their stool has been runny, but still has pellet shape & quite honestly, it is much larger than our other 2 geckos' stool.
I know we need to take them to the vet for a health check & tests. Lucky for us our town has a herp vet. Should I get them in right away or should I let them have more time to calm down after all that I've done to "improve" their lives.
Any thoughts & advice is always welcome. Thanks again. J
