I'm asking all you fearless roach breeders if you can take a picture of adult dubias in your hands so I can see how big they really are before I jump into breeding them.

I already know about the set up but was wondering that instead of putting the mess on top if I could make air vents on the sides of the container? I would also like to breed mealies and was thinking of a stacking method with the dubias on the bottom because heat is so important to for them to breed and putting the mealie container on top.

Lol.. im finding these roaches fascinating for some odd reason and after seeing Lana eat 4 of them last night and knowing how good they are for her the more I'm leaning towards breeding them.

I would say 1 - 1.5 ", but I can't take a picture.
I looked for a good google image with something to you compare size with (like a hand), but all there was, was enlarged photos on a white piece of paper :p

So Sam, does this mean your volunteering to take the picture with the
adult roachie in your hand? :main_laugh: ;)

Also some advice - never pick up a pregnant female.... bad things can happen.

LizMarie -

Go to nyworms website for stats on the Roaches.

There are sheets there that give you a lot of information on various Roaches and it also tells you the Adult Size of each type.

Since you have some smaller ones you can estimate the overall adult lenght, width, etc from them.

How many adults should I start with..!?

Because I really don't want to wait there forever while they all mature and then breed. I'd like to have everything pretty much set where I can atleast feed her a few of them a week.

Keep in one I have leo im not trying to feed an army, Lmao

I just noticed my mom will just about die when and if I breed roahces, LMAO!

During my Vacation I think I'm going to go to Kmart or Walmart which ever I get to first and find a bin for them then order some petri dishes and stuff. To get started. I might just buy one of those starter kits someone on Ebay is selling 100mix roaches, 2 eggs crates, 2oz of water crystal and Roach Chow for just 39.95 + 9.95 shipping.
