Yet another heating question.

I have never used a heaing pad before on my previous gecko. I was just wondering what you guys use for wattage on a light, because the pad will not be my only heat source.

A heating pad / UTH is really the only heat source he/she needs. Unless you live in Alaska and you need even more heat then your UTH can give.

Any UTH i have ever seen keeps the floor of the tank plenty warm.

Think of it like this, Snakes are almost never out during the day, why because its to hot. They come out at night to lay on the black top road or a rock where its still warm from the sun. Leos work the same way.

If you must supply more heat then that, use a infared (red) bulb. Red light does not bother them as much as white light. Dont use the painted red light bulbs, use the red glass ones. 50 watts or less. Oh ya keep the floor between 88-91 degrees.
