Young leo not reconizing food?

Hello, I just bought a baby leo about a month ago, hes very skittish and i found out tht mealworm and superworm really dont appeal to him, he will only eat crickets.. I like to hand or (tong) feed him crickets so i dont hav a million crickets hiding in every nook and cranny. Some times when i hold the cricket out in front of him it doesnt even phase him, almost like he doesnt see it (and i kno hes hungry) but when i let go and the cricket moves and wanders he gets alert and hunts for it.. could he not b seeing it when i hold the cricket? Its hit or miss sometimes.. sometimes he'll see it and eat it ryt away and other times it looks lik he doesnt see it

why would u be worried? I would never hand feed a leo,IMO they will depend on u greatly to feed them.When u let the crickets loose he eats correct?? Thats what u want a leo to do is hunt for his food.Sometimes if u stick a prey closely right in front of their eyes they dont recognize it.

My leo won't eat if the crickets sit perfectly still. lol. It's funny to watch. So... pretty much if the cricket plays dead, Leiah won't eat it... once it starts moving she chows it down! She likes the movement. If I handfed her crickets she probably wouldn't eat them.
